Collector’s Notes

This Pikachu V is a fantastic example of the Pokémon V mechanic, the foundation of the VMAX cards in the Sword & Shield era. These “Basic” Pokémon were powerful in their own right, with high HP and strong attacks. The artwork by 5ban Graphics is vibrant and dynamic, using a 3D rendering style to depict Pikachu crackling with energy, ready to unleash a powerful attack. The “full art” style, where the illustration covers the majority of the card, makes it a highly desirable piece.

As the official Museum Mascot, this card represents a huge store of potential energy. The geological theme is one of pure power. The lightning arcing from Pikachu’s cheeks is a direct visual link to the powerful electrical discharges that occur during volcanic eruptions (volcanic lightning) and the raw energy of a thunderstorm interacting with the ground. It is a perfect symbol of the immense natural forces that our museum seeks to document.
