Collector’s Notes

This Holo Rare Pikachu is a key card from the special Pokémon GO set. The beautiful artwork by Narumi Sato depicts a cheerful, winking Pikachu in a peaceful, grassy field. The most notable feature is the blue cap it’s wearing, which is adorned with an icon of two Pokémon cards. This is a “TCG Hat,” an avatar item that players could wear in the Pokémon GO game, making this card a fantastic “meta” reference to the game’s crossover nature. The vertical holographic pattern adds a lovely shimmer to the peaceful scene.

As the official Museum Mascot, this card tells a story about the act of collecting itself. The hat is a direct nod to the players and collectors of the physical card game. For the GeoPik museum, this Pikachu represents the collector—the geologist, the prospector, the explorer—out in the field, searching for specimens. The lush, green environment in the artwork is a direct product of the underlying geology—the soil, the bedrock, and the water table that support such life. It is a perfect, gentle representation of a healthy ecosystem thriving on a solid geological foundation.
