Collector’s Notes
This Nosepass is from the Start Deck 100 series, a special product released during the Sword & Shield era that featured 100 different, pre-constructed decks of varying rarity and power. This unique distribution makes collecting specific cards from the series an interesting challenge.
The artwork by OKA is beautifully simple and evocative. It depicts a stoic Nosepass standing in a barren, sandy landscape, curiously observing a single, delicate flower. The composition, reminiscent of the Moai statues of Easter Island, creates a wonderful sense of stillness and contrast between the living rock and the fragile plant.
Nosepass is a premier Geological Pokémon. A pure Rock-type in the games, it is known as the “Compass Pokémon.” Its body is a living magnet, and its prominent red nose always points north. This connects it directly to the real-world science of geophysics and the Earth’s magnetic field. As is standard, its Rock typing is represented by the TCG’s consolidated Fighting type.
