Collector’s Notes
This Pikachu VMAX is a fantastic example of the VMAX mechanic that defined the Sword & Shield TCG era. It represents Pikachu’s special “Gigantamax” form, which is a wonderful homage to its original, chubbier design from the earliest days of the franchise. The full-card, textured artwork by aky CG Works is spectacular, showing the colossal Pikachu radiating with immense electrical energy.
As the official Museum Mascot, this card represents the pinnacle of Pikachu’s power. Its connection to the geological theme is one of pure, immense energy. The “G-Max Volt Tackle” attack is a spectacular release of power, a perfect metaphor for the most powerful geological events on Earth—a volcanic eruption, a massive earthquake, or a lightning strike hitting the ground and forming a fulgurite (fused sand).
