Collector’s Notes
This Rhydon is the Reverse Holo Uncommon from the Japanese set Pokémon Card 151. The artwork by GOSSAN is incredibly energetic, depicting Rhydon charging through a landscape of mud and shattered rock, showcasing its immense power. While the art is the same as the standard version, this card is distinguished by the beautiful Poké Ball holographic pattern that covers the entire card except for the illustration, making the artwork pop.
As a foundational Geological Pokémon, Rhydon is a must-have. Its Rock/Ground nature is represented by the TCG’s consolidated Fighting type. A particularly desirable feature of this card for collectors is the “Charisma Drill” attack, which gets a massive power boost if the “Giovanni’s Charisma” Supporter card is played. This is a wonderful nod to the lore of the original games, where the villainous Team Rocket leader, Giovanni, famously used a powerful Rhydon in his party.
