Collector’s Notes

This Aggron VMAX is a fantastic example of the VMAX mechanic, the TCG’s representation of the Dynamax and Gigantamax phenomena from the Sword & Shield games. These cards are defined by their massive HP, devastating attacks, and the rule of giving up three prize cards upon defeat.

The full-card, textured artwork by 5ban Graphics is spectacular, depicting a giant Aggron surrounded by a swirling vortex of cosmic energy. It’s a true centrepiece card. Interestingly, while the card text is Japanese, the set numbering indicates this is a special international Asian release from the set Towering Perfection (likely Indonesian or Thai). This makes it a fascinating “International Specimen,” much like the planned English Onix exhibit, and a desirable find for the museum.

As a Steel/Rock-type Pokémon, Aggron is a premier Geological Pokémon. Its lore describes it as claiming entire mountains as its territory and feeding on iron ore. This VMAX form represents the absolute peak of that concept—a living mountain of refined, weaponised metal. It is a perfect symbol of raw geological power.
